what do you think is a period of time that is classed as emergency treatment??  she said i would be classed as emergency, so how long do you think i should wait before contacting the dental place to find out how much longer??or indeed if they has forwarded anything on at all !!!!!  or if at all... the hole has healed over quite nicely but the roots are sticking through :(

i have just got my letter from ruh about my op..had to fone for an appointment which i have done so this afternoon..... i was hopping mad and have had to calm down before i could post this.....   ::)
the dentnist told me it would be an emerency apponntment for an operation to take out the tooth  WRONG  she lied to me..its a rountine appointment... i have to wait until nov 4th for my first appointment to assess my tooth and then i will go onto the waiting list and have to wait   :o
im sorry but this is not good treatment from our new national health dentist...a bloody animal would have been seen to straight away..not have to wait  6 weeks just for an appointment to have a look at it........ its her fault i have to go for this op in the first place.. and she told me it was an emergency...if she hadnt i wouldnt have said it to my sis in law sat outside waiting for me to come out .....
think im gonn be changing dentists..its taken me years to pluck up the courage and go to one in the first place and she has ruined it completely......
would love to hear other peoples opinion of the new dentist by the swimming pool....... someone else must have beent here surely!!!

a bloody animal would have been seen to straight away.
...and the vet would charge you. If you paid, you'd be seen within a day. Welcome to the NHS.

had my appointment for ruh for yesterday.....   had to have ecg(never had one of those before  :-[ ), blood tests ,weighed and height taken xray,  4 different departments on 2 different floors at total opposite ends of the hospital... ( people who work there must walk miles every day)
i am now on the waiting list to have 2 teeth removed...one has the roots sticking up through my gums with an infection in it ( no wonder its still sore afer 8 weeks)   not been given anything for the infection :( and am now on the 13 week (at least) waiting list. i have to stay in over night due to the fact i have a reaction to anasthetic and sleep like a baby even after they have woken me up..  been told i will need a couple of days off to rest and get the anesthetic out of my body.
apparently "they could do it with local anesthetic by cutting my gum along the side and removing some one my actual jaw with the totth attatched that way"  :o   iiiiiiii  dont think so somehow..opted for option2 and be put right out

i did mention what happened at local dentist and was told i got cause to complain

p.s  forgot to mention.... 6 hours there at the different clinics i had to go toand waiting times ..and and hour and a half to get home and £6.30 lighter in my purse after parking charges:( ( welcome to the national health)

I have visited this dentist twice now first thing she did pick up on after an xray was 2 of my second teeth in the roof of my mouth I explained the 2 cannine teeth at the front where my milk teeth and are rebuilt every few years , she then went along one side with that mirror thing on a stick and whacked it hard, I was told then she had to do a root canal straightaway as I had an infection wasnt aware i even had one she carried it out and I was to go back monday gone to have a crown done on it.
An hour after leaving the whole built up tooth fell away leaving a tiny stump which was mu original tooth underneath, monday she said I had to have this taken out now at the hospital great!
on the first appointment she said she wanted to take it out but I said i wanted to keep and save it then she said oh do you pay for your treatment and I said yes oh we can do a crown then!
my feel on the place is im going now to another dentist and get a second opinion as this tooth was fine till i went there , and now ive got an unsightly stump.

A lesson to be learnt here.
Never go to the dentist unless you have a problem, because if you do go without a problem, you'll for sure have one when you leave. (and you're wallet a lot lighter too).

oh dear mike.
exactly the same as what she did to me...she even started on root canal without even telling me or asking if i could afford it or not....and that thing with whacking the teeth witht he mirror got right up my nose AND bloody hurt...she did that 3 times to me....
be prepared for a long wait mike unless you go private...its taken me 8 weeks to get to see the specialist and im now on 13 week(approx) waiting list unless they get a cancellation of course :(
im not going back there and shall be again looking for another nhs dentist locally..... so if anyone could recommend a GOOD one who is pleasent and gives good treatment n very patient then please let me know :)

My dear Debs.   Sorry to hear about you bad experience, there is an NHS dentist who is brilliant at the Hospital.   His name is Mr Rhodes and treats disabled and frightened patients, he has a state of the art dental practice but I think you have to be reffered to him possibly through your GP.   My wife goes there and he is brilliant. take care  charlie
