The main difficulty for most people in answering this question is that most people don't know most of the town councillors at all. They might know a few of the longer-standing ones.  They will probably know even less about which councillors actually do anything of any real effect.

If I had to make a choice of my favourite town councillor it would be either Mike Hawkins or Charlie Finbow as they take the job seriously and are very effective when they really put their minds to it.  Horace Prickett and Francis Morland are also very knowledgeable and effective at what they choose to do.

The others don't come close yet ... but most are quite new and will hopefully pick up more over time and become effective in future years.  One or two of the new ones are quite keen, such as Mike Cuthbert-Murray, so he will probably become quite good quite quickly ... but it does take a few years to really get going properly as there is a lot to learn first.

Obviously I left myself out for this exercise. I think the fact that I have come top of three town council elections in a row (in three different wards too) says it all already, so I don't need to say any more.

He is definitely not on my favourites list, but I do recognise that he is quite effective at times. In fact, when he settles into the role a bit more and learns more about some of the projects, I think he will outshine most others quite easily.
