Horse on Mane Way
« on: August 06, 2008, 10:25:15 AM »
There is a horse, half shire type, grazing on the grass at the side of Mane Way. I didn't see anyone with it. Does one call the council about it (road safety) or what?

To answer my own questions, you call the 0845 number and speak to the local control centre.

They have a PCSO out looking for the horse, but as yet they had not found it, so I provided a specific location. Hopefully they can move it to a safer location :)

White and brown.  Quite a shaggy horse, not a short cut riding style horse. The kind you see pulling a trap along Weston beach.

The advice I have been given is that it is best for the Police to deal with this, especially as they have been called already,  as they will then decide whether to involve the RSPCA to deal with the situation.

Leaving a horse loose in a road is not good care of the horse.

Good photo - especially the clear view of the licence plate.  I'm sure a police officer has taken the details down by now ....  ;)

I shouldn't think for one minute that the photo was intended to be used as police evidence or to get anyone into trouble. It was probably Didicoys anyway.

They certainly have. I saw a device a few weeks back. Plugs into the pc and works by wireless the same as a mobile phone. A 'dongle' I think it was called.

Neither is technically a dongle... but I suspect no one cares about the semantics ;)
