Oil giant BP sparked calls for a windfall tax yesterday after revealing record profits on the back of spiralling prices.

The firm raked in £4.3billion in the past three months - almost £2million an hour and 61 per cent more than the same period last year.

Union leaders accused BP of profiteering and urged the Government to impose a windfall tax on the industry.

They are taxed heavily - sadly though that manage to avoid paying the taxes :-[
