royal mail are a law to themselves.. a postie ould have to deliver come what may... rabid dogs, craters full of crocs... but get injured and you get a stage one absenteeism and eventually the sack

firdst thing an interviewee postie gets asked now is "have you got a car"?
looking bewildered, the postie asks why? and the interviewer just happens to mention that posties require their own personal cars for use in delivering mail lol.. often to find they do not have adequate insurance cover for acting as a courier for royal mail..

there have been accidents involving posties using their own cars for delivery and the victims of the accidents aren't getting compensated becuase the driver finds out they are not insured even though they were told they were by rm manager.

tip for posties.. don't volunteer your car to be used to deliver mail

I remember there was a hell of a row in RM years ago with the union saying no way were posties allowed to use their cars because of the insurance issues, but I see nowadays they are using them, RM using back door practices again I expect.

so its ok for the elderly to get injured dragging their bins out along the  road then so long as their precious workers dont   huh   some people in the 60's n 70's have trouble moving their bins to the paths as it is wothout having to drag it to the road 
 this world is slowly going crazy
