i've thought something about this. the only person in the vehicle at the time where the potholes are should be the driver, as the other two are on foot and the collectors would be on foot, but the driver still runs the risk of a back injury.. or are the contractors more concerened of having damage caused to the lorry? tyre damage, suspension, cracked bushes.
actually, there is a pause for thought. potholes no doubt cause damage to tyres, whether it is the inside wall or the outside wall.. say for example damage was caused to the inner wall and nobody knew about it, and the lorry was travelling on the main road later and had a blow out and crashed into other vehicles etc... where would they stand then?
a tyre with an inner wall rupture is a ticking timebomb because nobody can see if there there is any damage.
potholes are a national occurence. i can see both sides of the coin, but people forget to look at the edges as well. moral of the story is someone has to fix the potholes, but what is happening at clarendon road is one part runs through where the houses are (so who owns that part) and the lane behind could be owned by someone else
