http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3124502/Four-hour-wait-as-one-shop-sells-gear-for-10-schools.html

im sorry but a 4 hour queue to buy school uniform?????  havent these people hear of buying it well in advance...why wait until the last minute? what would they have done if they couldnt get the required items at that shop?

Quote
FAMILIES queued for four hours to buy uniforms at one shop supplying TEN schools.
Scuffles broke out yesterday as parents scrambled to kit out their children before the start of term next week.

The situation arose after head teachers stopped selling direct their own blazers, jumpers and ties. It meant the sole supplier for parents in North London was the tiny Rough Cut Casuals shop in Islington.

Sarah Martin, of Holloway, who was shopping for her son, said: "This queue is a joke. It has definitely been the worst day of the summer holidays.

"I've waited hours. If I could order online or pop into another shop it would be a dream compared to this." She said she put off buying uniform until now to make sure it fitted her son as he is growing so quickly.

Dee Bailey and daughter Ellie, 11, also waited hours for her uniform.

Shop boss Michael Mirpuri said: "The parents have had all summer to get prepared. It's not our fault it has been so busy or that the shop is only very small. We have been rushed off our feet for the past few days."

to be honest the shops that are the only ones who seel the uniforms must be making a mint out of it. they are all over priced just becasue they have a certain school logo on them. why on eartht he schools cant go back to letting the parents buying the round neck jumpers  from any store then just buy a transfer to either iron or better ones that can be sewn on.   the last time i bought a matraver school jumper from  the  mans shop in the high street it cost me well over 2o quid  nearer to 25 just for one jumper.   no was could i afford a spare one for clean waiting to be worn....  same with the polo shirts.... triple t he price becasue they have the school logo on... instead or morrisons of 2 for a fiver then sewing on a badge.....   and why on earth you need the sschool logo on a t s hirt whent he jumper covers it all up i dont know. i had a few run ins with the school over it after they punished my kids for not having the correct jumper at times. i bought a pack of 3 for under a tenner...same plain black round neck sweatshirt jumper....it just didnt have the logo on....  told them id sew one on if they had some..... until then my kids would have what i could afford and i wasnt going into debt for anyone...never had..never will and certainly not for something as pathetic as school clothes with logos on..    have you seen the way some of t he teachers dress there???  and they are worried about the kids clothes?

i can understand waiting if your child has a growing spurt DG    but a lot of others dont... they just leave it to the last minute.  i had 3 kids i had to get uniforms for,,, (i couldnt afford to get it all at once as all their clothes coats shoes etc came from the child benefit as their father never paid for anything for them out of his pocket, if i dared to use the bank account for anything for the kids i had to pay it back when i got the child benefit )  so i had to get it bit by bit as and when i got the child benefit
