At the very best they will be selective in their answers to cover their crimes; at worst, they will have already advised the committee members on the dirt they have on them (by hacking their emails. phones, etc) and warned them if they are too difficult, another Murdoch paper/TV channel will publicise this dirt.
Far simpler, on the evidence already available, ban all Murdoch empire media from operating in this country, sieze their assets and compensate people like the Dowlings (never mind the politicians and "celebrities" who have used this paper to get their publicity when it has suited them, and have now learned that it is not a good idea for a mongoose to have a date with a snake) and arrest the News International CEO, Rebecca (Dave Cameron's my friend!).
