Helicopter
« on: August 02, 2011, 21:25:51 PM »
Does anyone know why a helicopter spent a lot of time hovering around, what seemed to be the Oldfield Road/Leigh park area, earlier this evening?

Probably the Police watching someone being dodgy.
I'm here in my private capacity as a local resident only (unless stated otherwise).

If it was the Police Helicopter it must have gone undetected, as there was no report!
or just surveillance, or insignificant!

............... OR, could be the Council, trying to work out a new traffic system for the Town.  ::)

Only if Wiltshire Police volunteered the use of the helicopter.  ;D ;D

Seriously though, the helicopter has been seen about on numerous occasions, but according to the Wiltshire Police website the last incident was mid-July, whilst the Air Ambulance website refers to the last incident as being in mid-June!!

If they need continued public support, they really should ensure that the public knows the services are required,  being used and any incidents are publicised! How long does it take to put a paragraph on a website??

If any service was not being used for almost 2 months, people would ask why it is still being paid for!

A hoovering helicopter. A good example of why spelling does matter.

Couldn't they send someone round on a bike? What do "specials" do?

Do we have any Special Constables in Westbury? I have never seen one.

;D Guess we both slipped up RB!!!

.........a criminal or someone needing a hospital!!!!!

If we do have 'Special Constables' I hope they are a different breed to the one I knew!!! She wouldn't have known the truth if it smacked her in eye! Which I told her and also that she should have been ashamed to wear the Uniform!! Glad to say she didn't last very long.
