Topic: Westbury to buy car parks for £1

A lot depends on whether a church service is on (eg. wedding, funeral, baptism) in All Saints Parish Church.
 
I've seen the Market Place half empty regularly during the week lately.

Well, we can hope for more weddings and baptisms!

This proposal was supposed to have been brought before the Town Council on Monday (5th September).

If so, what was the result?

If not, why not?

Have the initiators decided instead to check their facts before going to Council which they failed to do before going to the papers, or is this just "last weeks promise"?

At the full town council meeting on Monday, this item was disposed of quite quickly by simply passing the matter to the car parks working group who will consider these ideas amongst all the other issues that need to be considered.
 
The car parks working group will report to full council when it has had a chance to get hold of all the relevant information and formulate recommendations.

So why was not this done before certain Councillors went to press with this story about buying the car parks for a £1?

You are simply trying to stir matters up.
 
Both Mike C-M and Sue Ezra work hard as councillors and get things done, which is more than can be said for many.
 
They often tend to just go at things rather than wait for the whole cumbersome process to move within the council ..... which is why they sometimes step on toes ... but overall they really do get results that others cannot come close to achieving .....
 
This really is becoming a vendetta against councillors who just do things differently sometimes to how you would act.
 
They've done nothing wrong.  They just jumped the gun to the press and I don't think it will do any harm.
 
You will see the results in the end and then you will see why all this fuss about a newspaper headline is really neither here nor there.
