just wondering....
Debs:
i walked across to the high street today like i do most days since i been on the sick :( (fresh air and exercise) and again i walked on the side of the chinese and bookies... its with dismay that as i walked past the white horse cafe that i realised all i could smell and smell strongly was cigarettes. All seating outside was full up of smokers sat there chatting and having coffee. these are mostly the same people who sit there day after day...and sometimes if ive been over the town 2 or 3 times they are still sat there.... ive come tot he conclusion t hat that cafe is one i will never use. i dont fancy having to walk through a thick smog of smoke to get into a place selling food. surely thats against health and safety food hygiene rules and regulations??? same with the cake shop across the road too...walking into it through a smell of fag smoke. but the cafe was the worse strong smell of smoke i have smelt like that for a long time. im not against people smoking , i myself live with a smoker but he doesnt smoke indoors at all just outside.
would you use the cafe after having to walk through such thick smelly smoke to just get into the door?? think i will stick to the Mad Hatter when i start eating out again..give the white horse cafe a WIDEEEEE BERTH !!!!
why do they sit there all day? or most of it anyway ?? it was a cold one this morning..starting off at -1 according to my wiget on the computer set for westbury temps...

Popped into Westbury High Street this morning. Nice to see that the Bath Bakery have taken over the cakery - you can actually buy bread now! Staff in there were nice as ever.
The reason I went to the High Street was to get a prescription, I waited outside Preddy's (which had a sign on the door saying they open at 8.30am) until 8.35am, but the staff inside just didn't look like they were in any hurry to open up. Pretty poor when you have a couple of people queuing outside.
Gave up in the end.

The retailers may blame the parking charges for the downturn in their business, but this does not help!

no it certainly doesnt help when they know there is people waiting outside and im not meaning just preddys....its most of the other shops... if they open at 8.30 then thats the times they should open their doors... not when they feel like it. what i find is worse is when you go into another chemist and stand there with things in your hand which you put on the counter AND they still stand there behind the counter talking to themselves whilst ignoring you looking at your watch. some of morrisons staff need lessons is customer care and the way they ignore their customers and dont even look at them..not once during the time they are serving you at the tills... no thank you, no please or good bye
