Sector9:
Firstly, a belated Happy New Year to you all!

2012 looks like it will be an exceptional year, with loads to look forward to (particularly in the UK).

We've got the Olympics (obviously), Euro 2012, an extra day off for the Jubilee, and the end of the world, plus all of the usual fun stuff.

What are you looking forward to in particular?

Artylad:
The end of the world x x x

Sector9:
Well you have just over 11 months to wait. We're looking at 21st December, so we can all be assured that our final days will be spent frantically shopping.

Shizzy:

Again, it only seems like last year when the world came to an end.

Mike Hawkins:
Pity the end of the world could not come before the bloody Olympics!  A major cost that the country cannot afford and the country (as a whole) will receive no benefit from.

However, the truth about the world coming to an end according to the Mayan, this is pure rubbish. The Mayan stated that this CURRENT calendar will come to an end in 2012 (as it had done some three or four times previously). Typical media cr*p!

But, if you are still gullible enough to believe it - spend like mad on your credit cards from October; ensure you have taken all your holiday entitlement by December 20th; eat, drink and be merry! Because then on 22nd December, you can say "Sod it! Now what do I do?"!

(PS: If the world was really going to end on  21st December 2012, HMRC would NOT give you until 31st January 2013 to complete your tax returns. These would be required by August 31st 2012, with money you owe, to be paid by 30th November - they would undertake to pay tax refunds by 23rd December!!
