Ah ....   I did cause this misunderstanding when I made an earlier comment about wondering if I had seen you recently. Unfortunately, I had confused you with another lady near to you - actually diagonally across the roundabout near your home .... and I deleted that wrong text of mine. Sorry about that.

Actually ... looking at the photos again .... I now wonder if there may be 2 separate groups of vans in the same stretch of road - by coincidence ?

I always thought there was a covenant - is that the right word? - with each home on Leigh park forbidding the parkiing of commercial vehicles on the estate. I know it gets ignored - if it exists. and I am not sure what standing such a covenant might have in law but this could be a way of getting the vans off.

The covenant is for the benefit of the developer, so Persimon would only act if it was in their own interest or if they were paid (same thing).

What's the benefit to the developer? Was it so that during development the housing would be more appealing to prospective buyers if there were no commercial vans/lorries parked around the estate?

Yes ... and any other reason they may need to clear vehicles parked in the road as well.

i was surprised to see the owner of nelsons have a shop there to be honest...he has always had his fingers in loads of pies so to speak....  i always thought cars was more his thing to  be honest...  cooking was more his mothers line of business

I'm surprised Nelson's Is selling up. I would have thought out of all the takeaways along there, they were doing best.
Maybe the insurance wouldn't pay up after the fire and It has 'broke' the owner.

Not a question but an observation.  I was in the Leigh Park Shopping Centre a few days ago - the car park was bursting as per normal, and l noticed a van with an animal carrier on the back taking a 'shortcut' across the land that was earmarked for the Doctors Surgery - he didn't stop when he reached the other side and could have caused a nasty accident.  Traffic should be stopped from using this area as a shortcut!

Sorry to hear that we have lost the Italian and the Fish and Chip shop.   Wonder how long it will be before the Thai/Chinese also shuts up shop!

i use tescos express on a regular basis and have seen a fair few cars go that way as a shortcut,lazy bone idle drivers who think its a good ideal
