the bare faced cheek of people....
« on: October 22, 2008, 21:28:11 PM »
you remember the episode in the summer of an old foreign couple who parked up on my drive then went into town to do some shopping leaving an old woman in the car knitting who couldnt speak english ( so she insinuated)
WELL[/size  blow me down if it aint happening right now.........

i heard a noise a bit to close to my front window and went to investigate the garage as i have had drunk lads trying to get in it before...anyway i find a silver corsa prked on the bloody drive... not taking up one space they arent entitled to..BUT  2 as they have parked sideways on... i was hopping mad......

so come n got me cardigan and went back on patrol waiting..... waited for about 20 mins or so.... fuming...pacing....... i had guessed  byt he car parked directly opposite on double yellows and  a ar on the drive that it could possibly be from that house.......   anyway someone came out who i know  ::)  asked him if the cars owner was in there....
yeah i
he says  its ok!!!  oh no it isnt said i annoyed by now.... its my drive..... and my son cant park his car on here cos both parking spaces are blocked by that car hald on the path and half on my drive... he went in and shut the door..... i slammed mine..... and the car has now gone......

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr    its not council land its my drive of my rented house..i rent it along with the garage and house and gardens.... no one else pas the rent...i do.... its mine...and i wont have all insundry parking there...
as it happens the police coming through in their car just had to squeeze through slowly...they didnt bat an eyelid.... and t hat was to cars parked right opposite each other AND both on double yellow lines..if an ambulance or fire engine needed to get through it wouldnt be able to...

so....... ????? actually it isnt alright to park on my drive.... you might know me but that doesnt mean that every one else can park on my property without so much as a bye or leave or kiss my arse
ive a good mind to start parking in the middle of my drive now just out of spit

Raise this problem with your local Councillor and see if some formal parking inforcements can be applied failing that ask if some drop down bollards can be fitted and you have the key.

This is a Police issue because the problem is on private land.  Report the trespassing to the Police EVERY time to build up a record on their database. If you can, take photos of each vehice (including registration plate).

Log the report reference number yourself with each date. After a while, their computer will tell them there is a repeating problem to deal with.  They may advise you to fit a gate or ask your Landlord to do so.

thanks russell

this seems to be an ongoing problem as my son and hhis parnter lived here before they bought a house and they said they used to get people parking here too...... i just dont understand why they do it... they seem to think they park anywhere and its ok as the chap told me last night when i complained.... well its not ok. the reason i wanted and love this house so much is the large drive big enough for 3 maybe 4 cars at a push ( my kids and parnters all got cars) and t hat means my grand children can be got in and out of the cars safely.....  its not like it looks like waste ground and a free for all...its all tarmaced and right outside my door and garage...   so last night my garage access was blocked as was the fact my son couldnt get his car on if he came home
im not sure if its serous enough to contact the police (yet) i will see how many more do it.... i will i think start parking bang smack in the middle though, see if that puts people off from doing so
i just cant understand why anyone does it to be honest.... im quite sure they wouldnt like it if i went to their houses and parked outside their access to drives/garage/gardens !!!  i wouldnt park in front of peoples drives and block them from using their drive or garage and certainly NOT if i wasnt actually in their house, and to make it worse there is double yellow  lines all along my house access as it is, so they shouldnt havebeen there anyway.. not that seems to maater on my road as they park where w hen adnhow they bloody well like so i gather from when im driving through
shame jayday isnt here any more... i could have picked his brains unofficially  ;)

i had thought about that actually....
would need a long length of chain..but would i get prosecuted if anyone fell over it drunk after wandering onto my property?? or the little darlings that try to swing on it cos its there on their way to school  or would i get insurance claims from people who tried to park there without realising its there and scrape their cars on the chain???

hmmm decisions decisions !!!!!

Hmm, good points MyAngel. I don't know. Maybe fit those poles that you lock into position? Or perhaps just a friendly "Private Property. No Parking" sign?
