well... i left home this morning.... got out onto my drive at just after 9 oclock only to find a car with ambulance splashed all over parked up on my drive ( been there a while going by the fact it was dry under the car and wet everywhere else)   he looked at me and nodded so i asked if he was ok. he said "yes im ok" in very broken english   ::)  and looked back at what looked like a large diary on the steering wheel.  so presuming he was lost or something i asked if HE needed help. he no he was fine..why?   so i replied with well i was wondering as you are actually parked on my private drive and youre not needed here and the other houses near also have drives so i was wondering what you are doing.   with that he got off the drive anad parked up a couple of houses down on double yellow lines.   he  obviously didnt have a clue where he was or where he was supposed to be. i did ask if i could help  but he said no.  i think he was going to have to try harder to make sure his patient understood him properly.

its just incredible really the amount of people who just pull up on the drive as and when they like....  its been better since that numpty witht he camper van because i had been parking right bang smack in the middle.... but last night i had stopped right to one side nearest the house as it was tipping down when i got out the car   grrrr   some people...

i see that the people a bit further down who are turning one of these lovely houses into flats are now in the process of ripping up the pavement in order to put in dropped kerbs themselves....i was under the impression that you had to use a proper approved firm to do that and with planning permission too  ::) ( its usually ross hillman around here i thought)

Apparently you can do it yourself, but you can always phone the council and make sure they've got planning permission.

but you can always phone the council and make sure they've got planning permission.

They won't need planning permission as the kerb isn't onto a classified road, however they will need permission from Wiltshire Council. Planning permission and permission are different.

Having a knackered tractor isn't really a good indication of whether the company is accredited or has public liability insurance.

A quick call to Wiltshire Council will clear up if the work is being carried out correctly.

tuesday i looked out of my window and saw a little car parked on my drive ( dont these people learn i thought to myself) so i got my shoes on and went outside preparing myself for another confrontation like on the other occasions that idiots have darent to park on my drive and go shopping across to the town grrr..  while out there i was having a look in the car to see if i recognised the driver by anything in it and i noticed the car had a royal mail jacket slung across the drivers seat.  so i went back indoors to get my mobile and contacted my brother as he is a local postie and knows all their cars.. so i spoke to him and while he was laughing when i told him ( he was present when the dutch people were on my drive in previous post )  i read off the number plate and he recognised it and said whose car it was.  it happened to be a friend of mine's car who had changed her car and i wasnt aware of it and she was using it to do her round in my street.   so that was ok..i didnt need to  lose my temper as i had on previous occasions did say she could use the drive if she ever needed to.  lol  maybe she should have knocked the door just to say it was there though especially the last numpty to park there and go shopping i threatened to slash all his tyres if he turned up again on my drive...   panic over.... now chill... go back indoors and watch daytime tv or read a book
