Major Road Disruption - Warminster Road (message from Matravers school)

another status update on facebook people might be interested in ...

Westbury petrol station is closed for two weeks for refurbishment as the garage has been taken over by another company as we were informed by the staff there yesterday. Pass on and share please.

handy i suppose during the traffic delays on warminster road to do their refurbishments .....

i gathere there has been frustration oday with the traffic chais caused by the  roadworks.   i had to do my tv up just before tea time because inconciderate drivers getting impatient driving a rather powerful, throaty car ( young chap from what i could see) was getting very impatient and was revving the arse of his car and beeping his horn repeatedly....   NERD !!!!  its roadworks and its not gonna get you through it quicker.  the traffic has been down haynes road near enough to the roundabout  on a few occasions today ....        how long are they for???

   well the road works are certainly working...backed up way past my house again and its not even rush hour  lol        least there isnt arsehles sat impatiently and beeping their horns n revving their powerful little cars ( kids)....  well   ... not yet...maybe that WILL be rush hour madness lol   all ive gotta do is turn up my tv ....  its a pain having no double glaazing  in the living room n kitchen... n what double glazed window there are here are crap anyway...  ahh well neever mind...onwards and upwards !!!!   

cant wait for aldi to open .. their fruit and veg have always been cheaper than the other supermarkets  locally and often better quality as have their flowers..

I think they ought to rename the town Dug-up Westbury, there's roadworks everywhere you go! as well as the roadworks in Warminster Road you have traffic lights in Alfred Street, Oldfield Road and the road blocked off down Frogmore Road between Fore Street and Meadow Lane.

It does apear that whoever co-ordinates the scheduling of these things did a pretty crap job. That assumes of course there is some co-ordination!

Dont forget the new road works on the A350 Yarnbrook road for 12 weeks starting next week !

looks like people are getting more impatient...i just came back from town and watched a woman turn around int he road near the vets....  completely stopped the traffic for which i was grateful for as i was able to cross the road much easier   lol       ive noticed a few going uphill turning into our road and going back out that way instead of sitting in the queue.... im guessing they find another way around the road works.........  more traffic was on laverton road yesterday too..not helped by 2 vehicles that were parked along it despite the parking restrictions. one very large hgv came along eden vale road yesterday too..much to large for the weight limit on that road. but drove straight past the small trading estate there so guessing he was finding a different way too....

anyone been along the warminster road and seen what they are doing or how far they have got doing it???   i see the traffic has been backed up a few times today but not as bad as other days when its been a complete stand still with everything just ticking over.    ive not gone that way myself ..i leave here via the doctors end and go wherever i need to go from there..  must admit it was pretty bad one particular day and to get back into the crescent i was queuing from just past the new home on station road.  concidering the delays on on warminster road thats hell of a queue

I'm very surprised they have not set up a suggested diversion for through traffic, via Southwick.

ive followed a couple of lorries along eden vale road and no they didnt go into the small trading estate  there... carried on past it and went along station road when they came to the double roundabout

the electricity board have decided  just now to put 2 vans and a digger n trailer on haynes road right in front of the dentist/ bus stop... causing more havoc to the already busy road due to the traffic roadworks on warminster road....        well done

throw in usual lorries and tractors as well as normal monday traffic and its fun fun fun !!!!
