Quote
ORGANISERS of a three-day music festival due to feature troubled rocker Pete Doherty breathed a sigh of relief after being granted a licence to hold the event.

Objections surrounding the Moonfest festival, planned for August 29-31 at Storridge Farm in Westbury, meant the issue went before West Wiltshire District Council's sub-licensing committee yesterday.

Complaints had come from residents living near the festival site and campsite, who were worried about noise and anti-social behaviour.

Some attended the meeting along with a representative from Brokerswood Country Park, which is two fields away from the festival arena.

full story in above link...
will it affect you?   how?  do you think it should be here? if not why not? and if yes why?  do you think it will be good for westbury ?

i dont think it will affect me at all..... id ont live close to it at all. being near to town centre. If all goes well and they behave i cant see a problem with it. its not something i would go to be honest but that doesnt mean it shouldnt be allowed to open. i think the people who live close to it or have the business's affected by it should have been kept inthe picture a bit more to be honest.
i cant see the point of kicking up a fuss until its all over and you can actually access the damage and noise levels and trouble IF any of course occurs.  there  will always be someone ready to moan abou tthe slightest thing even if it doesnt affect them personally

I can see why it might annoy those close by. I worried when they stuck a fair on the park next to my house a while back, but actually it was fine. I suspect there may be some trouble just from volume of people walking up from the station (mind you, that road gets trouble from Club Ice foot traffic most nights - why would you crap in someones front garden???). It'll be interesting to see how it comes off, hopefully well :) I won't be going, not my cup of tea and hopefully I'll be away on holiday as thats the last week before school goes back.

There is a website if anyone is interested, http://www.moonfest.co.uk/

The name-calling is very childish.

I bet you have no idea what the brolly point is.
Holding an umbrella for the mayor IIRC. Or maybe it was a reference to umbrella companies...
