Topic: Moonfest festival

The magistrates court cancelled everything for Friday and then the festival organiser decided to cancel what was left of the whole weekend.
 
This is the result of nothing less than a massive muddle within the Police. They fully backed the whole proposed event (even to the extent of sending an Inspector to the town council to press the point that the police welcomed the proposed event including all security arrangements) and gave the thumbs up to the district council, who granted the licence.
 
Then the Police got concerns which they say arose from seeing a video of crowd trouble at a Babyshambles concert in July in the Royal Albert Hall (a venue which very rarely needs to ask for Police assistance).   But, Babyshambles have been around and about doing concerts and festivals for years ..... NOTHING is new about them!

I'm really only after vintage Rick Astley (I have my reasons). Might give you a shout to see what you've got...

gmtv just said that the rest of it was going ahead, despite what the papers say..... wonder if they will get updated.....

 its not like im bothered asi had no intention of going... but i can imagine the dissapointment of those who have already got their tickets and booked time of work or got someone in to look after their kids or farmed them out to family.... must be dissapointing for them

There is no confusion about the whole weekend being cancelled now.  The earlier articles reported on the court decision to cancel Friday, but some tended to focus on the main reason for this: Babyshambles being the advertised headline act.
 
The festival organiser decided last night to cancel the whole weekend.
