FIXED speed cameras and mobile speed cameras are no longer operating in Wiltshire.

The police confirmed that the cameras were switched off yesterday.

The police announced in August that the cameras would be mothballed in October due to a funding shortfall.

The cameras were administered by the Wiltshire and Swindon Safety Camera Partnership with the police providing the staff and Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council providing the funding.

Speed enforcement will be carried out by Wiltshire's traffic police as well as volunteers in Community Speed Watch schemes.
Ride fast, take chances. Just don't blame me when you fall off.

I wonder if they'll be looking for volunteers to dismantle the bloody things.
Please would you walk a little faster, or get the f*** out of my way.

Saw an unmarked Police BMW had pulled over a Royal Mail Transit on Storridge Road this morning. One assumes speed 'cos they do speed down there. So I wouldn't suggest driving everywhere at 90mph!
