Glad to see you are back - but please, as mentioned before - write your message and then WAIT - Ask yourself, - "Is it likely to cause an offence I do not intend?"
If so, re-write as a message you would not mind being at the other end of!
You ARE a good councillor - You do not need conflict!!

More like .... is any small-minded trouble-maker, or their supporters (on their behalf) likely to deliberately misinterpret anything and then try to stir it up out of context and over the top .....

But at least then you do have a reasonable chance of defending yourself, or others may (as I did in your comments re "sub-sectors" in retail).
I will not always agree with you as you know from past Council meetings, but let the electorate know you for the reasoned arguments you
can, and
do, put forward and not for the tit-for-tat petty episodes we see here and elsewhere.
Sadly these do prevent people seeing the way you can act for the town!! To those who will attack you anyway - turn the other cheek and "do not bite". Difficult I know, but I believe you
can do it.
Also,
please, recognise that others will not always share your views - this does not make them "ignorant", "mis-informed" or "stupid". It is called democracy and we may, or may not, by reasoned arguments change their minds - if not, so be it! Sometimes these same people have me re-think my position!!
Sorry if I appear to be lecturing or moralising - I do not intend to, but I do sincerely believe that you
are a good councillor for the town, but can sometimes be your own worst enemy!
