« on: March 30, 2011, 21:15:38 PM »
Are you going to vote? What do you think? Is the Alternative Vote system a good idea.

Here's an interesting report>>>>>>>

Whichever system is used and whoever is elected is irrelevant, they are all the same and none carry out the will of the people.

This referendum is only happening, at great cost, because Nick Clegg made it part of the coalition conditions.

The Aussies adopted it and it was so unpopular that they had to make voting compulsory. I wont bother voting which probably means only Lib dems will and we will end up with the Alternative voting system in this country. It wont make any difference.

So vote against it!

Under the current system a government can be voted in with 33% of the vote so 67% of the population
dont want that government, do you call that fair, i certainly dont
at least a coalition government is more representative of votes cast at the election.  :)

The current administration may be, in voting numbers, more representatitive but, like all in the past, they don't want to represent the people - just tax them and have them thrown out of work, whilst "sucking up" to the EU and the rest of the world!

If labour and the lib Dem's want it and the Tories dont you got to ask why the lib Dem's would get more seats yet the Tories would get less and if the Tories get less all the better i think lol.

No really I'm going to vote for it i will vote tactical too even vote ukip before the Tories just to make sure the Tories wont get my vote until at least before the Bnp

Far better system would be that any candidate who did not achieve a vote from 51% of the electorate would not be elected. Great! 634 tossers out of work, no Government to tax us or take us into another flaming war (TIC  ::)).

I've added a poll to this topic, just to see the general mood of people who read this thread.

I've read the leaflet and candidate 'D' gets a rough deal! :D

I wonder how they will work out who loses their deposit?

You ask which way will I vote, but what is the question we are voting on? Is a yes for or against change?

Same as the referendum. A YES vote means you want to change to the AV system.
