Why don't we all just bugger off?
« on: April 07, 2011, 11:06:26 AM »
And leave the country & our bank vaults open & tell the rest of the world to come help themselves.

We got to bail out nearly every country that was stupid enough to join the Euro.
We're spending god knows how much fighting other peoples illegal wars.
We're giving millions to educate Pakistan's kids when we can't educate our own to a decent standard.
Lately, anyone who got hurt during some long forgotten war wants to sue us & they'll probably win because we're like that. No other country would even allow it to get to court.  As it seems that an apology is more important than the money, I hereby apologise on behalf of the British Government.  Now piss off & take your parasitic no win no fee lawyers with you.

What's being in the Euro got to do with it? These countries that are having economic problems would still be having them with their own currency. The difference being that because they and us are all in one community we support them.

Yes, yes, I know. If we weren't in the community we wouldn't have to bail them out. I'm alright Jack!

Actually I think we should be giving more to educate Pakistani children. At the same time tell the Pakistani government, as part of the deal, to close down the schools that are educating their youngsters to become terrorists and martyrs.

I agree on these points. However, should we bugger off or should they piss off?  :)

But we won't do that will we Bob?  This latest gift is only to appease them  for Cameron actually telling them the truth for once.  So now we have to say sorry in the usual way. Shafted once again.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any country not in the Euro calling for help from the IMF.

As for I'm alright Jack, I wouldn't mind helping every tom, dick & harry if we were alright.  In case you haven't heard, we're supposed to be skint.  We can't treat our sick, vulnerable, elderly & infirm properly.

Strange how we can spend millions interfering in other countries politics.  Selectively of course.  Bomb Libya but not Bahrain, where exactly the same was happening. But then we  like the king of Bahrain don't we.

By the way, being in the Euro, is exactly why they can't solve their problems alone. If they still had the Escudo or Peseta, or the Punt, their currency could float on the international market and it's value would reflect that countries  economic circumstances, as does the GBP. As it is, they are in a one size fits all situation & in reality, one size rarely fits all.

Difficult question.  No its not, they should Piss Off.  We are an island apart from a bloody tunnel connecting us to France.   We have the capability of being fairly self sufficient except the clever dicks at Westminister poke their noses in where its not wanted costing us billions.   Look after ourselves for once springs to mind.  Wont hold my breath though.

Some bloody woman on the BBC News has just nicked my one size fits all statement almost verbatim.  Can I claim a royalty?

What a bunch of whingers!
me me me. That's all I hear.
We're still one of the richest countries in the world despite what cameron and his cronies tell you.
We're awash with money - It's just in the wrong hands is all!

I guess I'm just a socialist amongst VERY conservative folk on here. ::)

A very typical socialist who can tell us how wrong we are, but can never back it up & tell us why.  [beer]

you're wrong because you are so insular. You want to keep all yours and everyone else's wealth and posessions as close as you can. Typical Conservative outlook.
I bet you begrudge giving up your last Rolo!

I bet you moan and groan everytime you open your wage packet and see the amount of tax you paid - then go down the pub and drown your sorrows.  [beer] You can afford to - the majority of the worlds population don't know the meaning.

Show a bit more compassion for others and you'll be a happier person  instead of a moany grump. 8)

my argument is why should our taxes be spent on wars which are none or our business and doesn't directly effect our nation and why do we bail out other corrupt countries where previous aid had lined the pockets of their corrupt leaders, whilst knowing they will never pay it back.
Thanks Charlie for that perfect example. If It doesn't effect us - ignore it.

See someone lying hurt in the street? Walk on by, he's not effecting you.  :(

Another typical socialist ploy Bob.  Short on facts so make a few up.You don't know me.
Believe it or not, I actually gave away half my Rolos this afternoon. Well the ice cream variety anyway, (box of 4 for a pound in Tesco) bought 2 gave 1 away.

I've not had a wage packet in over 40 years. I rarely go down the pub, never to drown my sorrows. You don't know whether or not I can afford to. Good job you're not backing up your bets with cash ain't it?

Compassion?  Like I said, you don't know me. Unlike you, I don't talk a good job.

The only "fact" you seem to have come up with is that being in the Euro, is irrelevant to Portugal's problem, which is demonstrably 100% wrong. Strange how you haven't persisted with that one.

From your silence on the subject, can I take it that you've not been able to come up with a non Euro country that has had to ask for help?

I repeat, we can't educate our own to a decent standard.
