Just come back from Trowbridge and I see a board fence is being put up around the bottom part of the old Coop site.

So are they demolishing the existing building? seems pointless and a waste of money.

Lidl said they were going to demolish the existing building and replace it with their standard one.  That was clear from the exhibition they held last year.

Will be nice when its all finished and lidl's is opened .I suppose all the new houses that are going to be built around there will use it a lot as it's nearer to them .when I lived in kingfisher drive I used the co op but only for milk and bread if I ran out . Never liked the shop for some reason . I for one am looking forward to it being finished . It can  Pain having to go to trow or warminster to go there  if thats all i want to do there. Sometimes all thats needed is a 15 trip there and back just to get bread n milk.
I very rarely use Morrisons since Aldi came to our town . It's amazing who you see there. Ones who said they only buy named goods and that Aldi is for the poor people because it's sub standard goods ....and then you get " darling I only use Waitrose or m&s)  and low and behold you see them filling up their posh cars  on a regular basis.   Makes me laugh
Aldi and Lidl  baby goods are very good .  Ive bought highchairs, stairgates, pushchair, travel cot,  nappies and others goods. Never had a problem with any of it .   We love the German meats  etc

I am not aware of any date for opening being announced, but as Lidl are true specialists and experts in rapid development projects, and now that they are spending serious money clearing the site to start the new construction, I would expect quite a rapid build, fit out and opening .... so I'd be shocked if it was not open within about 6-9 months ... possibly a bit quicker ...  Definitely by Christmas ...

I thought I'd read that too, but when I went to find the source I couldn't.
