Leaves us with no banking facilities in Westbury. Brilliant.

Everything can be done online now and we have plenty of cash machines about town including at every supermarket ....... in fact, we now don't even need cash ....... except for the black market transactions where folk pay in cash ...... and the recipients probably don't pay tax ...

Not everything, I recently needed a bank statement printed in branch as the pension company insisted on a in branch copy. You can't pay cash into your account on-line either, or cheques .

Yes, I should have put "Nearly everything...".  Oh well, I am so glad I switched to Halifax in Warminster 10 years ago. It was a bizarre experience as during the process of giving them my ID, I discovered (ie. they told me) that I already had a savings account with them ... actually a joint account with someone else that I'd totally forgotten about ... It had loads of money in it ... though it was not my money ....   It all meant that my credit rating was astonishingly good .... though I quickly got my name taken off the savings account in case I was accused of trying to touch the money there ....

That would make no difference to your credit rating as credit reference agencies only report credit accounts, and banks do not send details of savings accounts to the credit reference agencies.

It may impact on the banks internal score they hold on you though.

I meant with Halifax itself.  I was not talking about third party credit rating agencies.  The lady I was talking to said "You are a long standing customer already" which took me by complete surprise ...

You should be more clear in your posts Russell, otherwise people can become muddled and confused.  ;D

I was clear. You chose to assume I meant something that I did not say. I did not refer to credit rating agencies.

I had to assume as your post was confusing, as you chose to use incorrect terms.

I think you are now becoming muddled and confused. The term credit rating is generally used to describe the score/rating generated by the Credit Reference Agencies (CRA's). What you were referring to was the score the bank have generated, most often referred to as the 'Banks Internal Behaviour Score'.

So, you work / worked in a bank then ...

Strictly speaking, there is no apostrophe when you make a word, including an acronym, into a plural.

You meant CRAs.

Can't collect foreign currencies in town now, or pay in a cheque. Sad times.
Ride fast, take chances. Just don't blame me when you fall off.
