ahhhhhhhhhh now that explains a lot..... other half was outside in the dark last night having a fag and come back in saying he had just seen a ufo ::) said he was joking but said there was definately something in the sky that moved very quickly and was quite orange in colour,,,, i suggested a shooting star but he said more than likely a meteor or some sort falling to earth.... i really thought he was winding me up as he is bit of a joker ...guessing he was telling the truth then !!! ::) wish i'd seen it now :'(

Oooh, having said it was to be cloudy, the BBC weather website now suggests we might get some clear spells later tonight, just in time for the peak of the shower. Fingers crossed.

I saw it too.... it looked more like a satellite as it didn't fizzle out like meteors do. If it's a clear night, then you can very often see the satellites moving about.

did what you saw missyd move at great speed?? this one did apparently... from one side of the skies to another... definately not a plane because it was orange

Hi, yeah they move fast like a meteor, but you can trace them right across the sky unlike meteors that disappear after a few seconds. Fez has also pointed out the space station to me a few times, it appears as a very bright big star if you're lucky enough to see it.

Saw 4 in just over half an hour. Not exactly the spectacular we been led to expect
-
i have just been outside, turned off all the lights and was watching the sky for the meteor shower we were told to expect. i saw a wonderfull one.. quite large and it left a trace across the sky behind it. its kind of magical dont you think? i do, im thinking i could have led for ages on the bench if i wasnt already dressed for bed and in my night clothes. not as many as i saw on the news earlier

I didn't see one sodding shooting star last night but we get another chance tonight apparently.
