Title: Ironic
Post by: Bob DeBilda on January 29, 2017, 12:22:36 pm
A lot of people that I know who voted to leave the EU based their decision partly on the fear of Turkey being allowed to join.

It's a bit ironic that the first country the government has done, or has tried to do a deal with is, Turkey !

I don't think these people had an issue with trading with Turkey, they just didn't want uncontrolled movement of people from Turkey to the UK.

Oh was that all?

These people, as you put it, are quite happy for us to do business with one of the most corrupt governments in the world?

If only there was a government that wasn't corrupt, we could deal with them, but they probably wouldn't deal with us.

If any Government refused to trade with "corrupt" governments there would be no world trade!

So we're agreed then. Not much hope of any trade agreements with anyone once we leave the EU.
